As salon business owners, we often get caught up focusing on marketing only to our clients. This also means that we tend to forget to market to another very important group – our own stylists and staff!

Why You Should Send Internal Marketing Emails to Your Stylists

One of the biggest struggles for salon owners is talent retention. It costs a lot to lose a talented stylist. Not only do you run the risk of the stylist taking your clients with them when they leave, but you also have to spend time and money replacing them.

The solution? Avoid that situation all together; fix the problem before it becomes a problem. One great way to do this is by sending out weekly marketing emails to your team. By sending weekly, or even monthly emails, you communicate to your team that they are valued. It also provides a great platform to share feedback, salon announcements, and most importantly, encouragement and appreciation for the hard work your team accomplishes.

What You Can Include in Your Internal Marketing Emails

At Be Inspired Salon, I send out weekly emails to my staff. These emails include encouraging quotes, salon updates, and upcoming events and educational opportunities for my stylists.

Your emails could include a shout out to a stylist who has done an excellent job lately, or you could use it to ask for feedback and ideas from your staff to improve the salon business. The possibilities and potential are endless, so add your unique flare!

The lesson here is don’t forget to give your stylists the attention they deserve! Something as simple as an email can help you stay in front of your team, get them excited about what’s going on in the salon, and make them feel that they have a stake in the success of your salon.
